120-Point Technical Inspection
A standardised 8-category technical inspection on every used car WHEELSTREET sells — before the sale, not after.
Quick answer
The WHEELSTREET 120-point inspection is a standardised technical condition check carried out by WHEELSTREET certified specialists on every used car before sale. The inspection covers 8 categories: engine (24 points), transmission (18), suspension (20), brakes (15), electronics (15), body (12), interior (10) and safety (6). Duration: 3-5 hours. The buyer receives a written report with the status of every item. Included in the car price. An independent inspection at Lithuanian workshops costs €120-180.
Why does the 120-point inspection matter to buyers?
A typical buyer purchasing a car from a private seller has no way to perform such a detailed check — the diagnostic equipment alone costs from €5,000.
Hidden defects
Engine compression issues, automatic gearbox wear, EGR valve faults — all invisible to the eye, yet they cost €1,200-3,500 in repairs on average.
Measured parameters
The inspection measures precisely: compression pressure, paint thickness (a sign of accidents), brake disc thickness, brake fluid moisture. Not by sight, but in numbers.
Written report
All 120 points are marked with a status: ✅ Good / ⚠️ Warning / ❌ Needs repair. The document is signed together with the purchase agreement.
What is checked — 8 categories × 120 points
All 120 inspection points are grouped into 8 categories. Each category performs specific measurements, not just a visual check.
1. Engine system
- Compression pressure measurement in every cylinder
- Oil level and quality (lab analysis over 150,000 km)
- Cooling system pressure test
- EGR valve operational check
- Turbo operation and oil leaks
- Engine start characteristics (cold / warm)
- Vibration analysis
- Exhaust gas composition (CO, CO₂, HC, NOx, O₂)
- Engine mount condition
2. Transmission
- Gearbox oil level and quality
- Clutch slip test (manual gearbox)
- Gear shift smoothness (all gears)
- Differential noise and operation
- Drive shaft balance (where applicable)

3. Suspension and steering
- Shock absorber tightness (all 4)
- Spring integrity
- Stabiliser link play
- Ball joint rotation accuracy
- Steering mechanism play (mm)
- Wheel alignment measurement (toe, camber)
4. Brake system
- Disc thickness measurement (front + rear)
- Brake pad thickness
- Hydraulic fluid moisture percentage
- ABS module diagnostics
- EBD operation test
- Braking efficiency measurement (m/s²)
5. Electronics and computers
- Reading all ECU faults (with history)
- Alternator voltage at running and idle speed
- Battery charging current
- Operation of all bulbs, sensors, keys
- Multimedia system update capability
6. Body and cosmetics
- Paint thickness measurement with an electronic gauge (on all panels)
- Corrosion mapping (underbody + arches)
- Glass integrity
- Panel gap uniformity (reveals past accidents)
7. Interior and comfort
- Climate control compressor operation
- Function of heated seats, steering wheel, windows
- Seat belt and airbag integrity
- Operation of all controls and buttons
8. Safety and ADAS
- SRS (airbag) module diagnostics

The WHEELSTREET 120-point standard
The same thorough inspection standard applies to every car — regardless of make or price.
120 inspection points
8 categories, 3-5 hours of measurements — not a visual check, but numbers.
Compression measurement
Engine compression pressure in every cylinder — hidden engine defects become visible right away.
Paint thickness measurement
Detects repaints and accident signs that are invisible to the eye.
ECU fault history
All electronic faults and their history are read — even deleted ones.
Hybrid battery SOH
High-voltage battery State of Health — a critical parameter for hybrids.
24-month MANGO warranty
For every car — one of the longest warranties on the market.
Written report
All 120 points with ✅ / ⚠️ / ❌ statuses, signed together with the agreement.
For all makes
The same standard for every car, not just one brand.
€0 for the buyer
The inspection is included in the car price — no extra fee.
How does the inspection work?
Vehicle intake
The car is received at the WHEELSTREET inspection centre in Vilnius. The documentation (registration certificate, service book) is checked and the current condition is recorded in photos.
VIN history audit
A VIN history audit is performed — we learn the accident history, mileage changes, number of previous owners and the official service registration history.
Diagnostics with OEM equipment
Bosch KTS / Autel MaxiSys reads the fault history of all ECUs (engine, ABS, gearbox, airbags, climate). All historic + active codes are recorded.
Mechanical inspection on the lift
The car is raised. We check: suspension, brake disc thickness, exhaust corrosion, oil tightness, fuel system tightness, drive shafts (if AWD).
Engine measurements
Compression pressure measurement in every cylinder. Cooling system pressure test. Turbo operation check (if applicable). Exhaust gas composition analysis.
Road test
A 30-50 km road test on average under city + motorway conditions. The gearbox operation, handling, vibrations, unusual noises and ABS / ESP operation are observed.
Report preparation
All 120 points are marked with statuses. Defects are documented with photos. The client receives a PDF report before the purchase transaction.
Frequently asked questions
How much does the 120-point inspection cost when buying through WHEELSTREET?
Free. The WHEELSTREET 120-point technical inspection is included in the price of every car we sell. The buyer receives the full inspection report at no extra charge. Ordering an equivalent inspection independently at Lithuanian workshops would cost €120-180.
Who performs the WHEELSTREET 120-point inspection?
The inspection is carried out by WHEELSTREET certified specialists using OEM diagnostic equipment (Bosch KTS, Autel MaxiSys), a 4-post lift, paint thickness gauges and compression manometers. All equipment is calibrated annually to manufacturer standards.
How does the 120-point inspection differ from the roadworthiness test (TA)?
The roadworthiness test (TA) is a mandatory state safety check — it inspects the required safety elements (brakes, lights, alignment, emissions). The WHEELSTREET 120-point inspection complements it for the buyer's protection: it measures compression pressure, transmission condition, hidden corrosion, ECU fault history, paint thickness (a sign of accidents) and 100+ other technical condition parameters before buying.
What does the WHEELSTREET 120-point inspection cover?
The WHEELSTREET 120-point inspection is a universal 8-category technical audit applied to all makes and models: engine (24 points), transmission (18), suspension (20), brakes (15), electronics (15), body (12), interior (10), safety (6). The process includes a compression test, ECU diagnostics, paint thickness measurement (accident signs) and a road test. A 24-month MANGO warranty is provided as standard (engine, gearbox, transmission, electronics). It takes 3-5 hours and you receive a written report.
Can I order a 120-point inspection for my own car before selling it on consignment?
Yes. When you bring a car in through WHEELSTREET consignment, we first perform the 120-point inspection — this increases the sale price by 5-15%, because the buyer sees a full document of the car's condition. The inspection is included in the consignment service (4-5% commission).
How long does the 120-point inspection take?
On average 3-5 hours depending on the complexity of the car (premium / hybrids take longer). The compression test, ECU diagnostics, paint thickness measurement and road test are all integrated into the process.
Will I receive a written inspection report?
Yes. After the purchase you receive a full 120-point report document with the status of each item: ✅ Good / ⚠️ Warning / ❌ Needs repair. All ⚠️ and ❌ items found are communicated before the purchase or fixed at WHEELSTREET's expense before the sale.
Want a car with a 120-point inspection?
Every car WHEELSTREET sells passes the 120-point inspection. A 24-month MANGO warranty is included. Leasing via 5 banks, free delivery within Lithuania.
